New Bike-Ohh Yeah Boxing day 2005

So I just got myself a new mountain bike in the Halfords sale. Mega bargain at just £199 reduced from £266, and previously at £349.

I have only been out and about a couple of times so far, but am very pleased with this purchase. Feels strong and sturdy, not to heavy. Perhabs I had become too used to getting around on my previous bike, a Univega, had a few problems with it but got a good five years out of it in the end.
Disk brakes, thay are new to me, I am told they'll need some bedding in. That goes without saying as a general rule with a new bike I reckon.

Braking the bicycle in Jan26st 2006

Well I've been buzzing about for the last few weeks now, and apart from a slight realignment of the chain shifter to stop it rubbing there have been no problems. Gears are smooth, which allows for rapid acceleration, possibly could have done with a little more on the middle cog. Used to be able to hammer a particular hill, without having to shift up into the higher gears, but hay, it's no real hassle. Got over the initial uncertaianty with a new bike, plug your tunes in, and your on your way. Happy Biking
